Customs and visas

Customs

If being the citizen of a non-EU country, you have to declare the sums of money that are equal to or exceed 10.000 EUR (or its equivalent in another currency) per person, when entering or exiting Romania.
If you decide to purchase antiquities, than the authorized merchandiser will take care of the necessary papers that are required by the Romanian Customs when taking such items out of the country. However, these papers might not be ready until you leave the country and, therefore, it is advisable to think in advance if you want to buy such products.

Visas

The citizens of non-EU countries must apply to the Romanian Embassies before traveling. For getting a comprehensive list of the Romanian Embassies from abroad, you may access the website of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - www.mae.ro

The list encompassing the countries whose citizens are required a visa is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website - http://www.mae.ro/index.php?unde=doc&id=7201&idlnk=3&cat=5.

Serbia is one of the countries which is required an entry visa.
The entry visa is granted by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular posts from abroad.
