Welcome to “Banat 22” website!

My name is Cross Border Lala and I have the great pleasure to be the mascot of the above-mentioned project. Therefore, I will take my job as a guide seriously and invite you to a tour of the top 22 tourist locations and events from Romanian and Serbian Banat. However, I wouldn’t like that the tourist emblems, which will shine on this region’s “walk of fame”, to solely fuel some stories you will enjoy reading. On the contrary, my greatest wish is to make you get on the first train to Banat and discover this piece of map for which history wrote common pages.

Consequently, I thought to help you a little bit by providing several details about the most significant hotels, travel agencies, info centers and other similar stakeholders that can turn an ordinary holiday on Banat realms into a dream stay. Moreover, as Banat region existing on the other side of the border is totally unknown to many of you, I’ve also mentioned some useful information that will certainly make all your questions fade away.

Additionally, if you wish to have an overview of the project that has brought the 22 tourist attractions into the limelight, I suggest that you take a backstage tour by clicking About the project.

Is there anything else I should tell you?...Oops, I think I’ve forgotten the chapter whose protagonist I am. So, please accept my apologies and join me at a chat between friends within the frame of Chatting with Cross Border Lala? section. Here, you can read my story as well as some of the jokes that have ranked me among the funniest characters in the region. Also, I kindly invite you to visit the kitchen of my wife, Sosa, if you want to discover the flavor of Banat dishes. Should you have any comments, please do not keep them for yourselves. Post them in the forum section, as there is nothing I enjoy more than the honest opinions of my dialogue partners.

Consequently, I suggest that you let yourself carried away by the alchemy of a region whose uniqueness is rooted in cultural diversity, historical landmarks and breathtaking landscapes. And if you come across the border, at a given moment, I will ask you to use your imagination and consider it a simple intermezzo that precedes the entrance to an equally fascinating territory. In other words, let the story flow on the other side of the border, too, if you wish to have the complete picture of a region placed under the same history cupola.

   Have a nice trip!
